Medical Materials Manager

Medical Materials Manager, OPA–Anchorage, Full-Time

Orthopedic Physicians Alaska (OPA) has an immediate opening for a dedicated and professional individual to join our rapidly growing and dynamic team as the Medical Materials Manager. Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Strong proficiency in use of computers, spreadsheets, and logistics/analytics software
• Health care experience preferred
• High degree of individual initiative, communication skills, task management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to establish and maintain a collaborative, service-oriented relationship with health care providers, staff, and patients
• Ability to apply principles of logical or mathematical thinking to a wide range of practical problems

Representative Duties
• Order and deliver supplies for various departments and locations of a large orthopedic & rheumatology group medical practice
• Manage and improve stock levels of durable medical equipment (DME) through ongoing analysis of total inventory investment
• Implement inventory change as appropriate, removing or combining stock as needed
• Remove unwanted inventory, donating as feasible to appropriate nonprofit entity, or returning to vendor
• Use personal vehicle to collect materials from vendors and deliver to clinic locations
• Maintain and update inventory management software and educate providers and staff on inventory protocol
• Maintain material safety data sheets
• Assist providers and staff with product use or other questions, and fulfill product research requests
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
• Partner with multiple clinic locations to manage site needs and requests, delivering materials as needed to locations or individuals

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1-2 years of inventory-related office experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management
• 2-3 years of experience in medical inventory management

This position requires frequent lifting of 10 to 30 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
